Operational Risk Manager (6-month FTC)

Purpose of Role

The role of the Risk Manager is to provide support to the Head of Operational Risk to oversee and monitor the effective management of risks within Masthaven (“the Bank”), and to work closely with the business areas in ensuring they effectively manage, report and take ownership of risks and incidents and operate an effective control framework.

  •  The successful candidate will be an experienced risk manager with significant retail banking experience
  • They will have a proven track record in partnering with the business (1st line)
  • The ability to successfully engage with and challenge stakeholders at a senior level, as well as experience in motivating and developing teams is essential
  • In particular the jobholder will have:
    • Exposure to the regulatory framework required to manage lending and deposit-taking activities in the UK financial services market
    • Leadership experience to influence and challenge the business agenda to focus on risk agendas
    • Demonstrable operational risk experience, including the provision of creative and practical solutions
    • Experience and knowledge of best practice risk frameworks, methodologies and emerging practice including recent regulatory development
    • Experience of managing people and small teams
    • Sound understanding of the business environment
