Jim O’Neill appointed as the new chairman of the investment division at Goldman Sachs

Jim O’Neill has been elected to take over as the chairman of the investment division at Goldman Sachs Asset Management. O’Neil has been a part of Goldmans since 1995 when he first joined as the co-head of the global economics research wing.

Talking about his appointment, Ed Forst, the global co-head of the investment management division in Goldman, commended O’Neill’s vast experience across various asset classes.

He further added, ‘His powerful voice in the global investment community will help us continue to demonstrate the value we add for our clients.’

O’Neill will work out of Goldman’s London office as a part of the senior leadership team and will lead the company in asset management. He will also be working with the divisional management and portfolio management teams to develop various strategies for their clients.

O’Neill is a graduate in economics from Sheffield University and did his PhD from University of Surrey. He is also a member of boards in Royal Economic Society in the UK, Bruegel and Itinera and is also a member of the UK-India Round Table and the UKIBC.
