A businessman facing 171 fraud charges is coming up against a new fight, as a creditor is seeking to have him declared bankrupt.

Kevin O’Kane, 51, from Northern Ireland, is currently being sued over millions of pounds paid out in property deals at a Turkish holiday resort.

According to a report by BBC News, now a fuel supply company owed money by O’Kane has lodged a bankruptcy petition at the High Court against the businessman.

Nicholls’ (Fuel Oils) Ltd has brought the bankruptcy petition against O’Kane, trading as O’Kane Fuels.

The petition has been passed to a judge who is already dealing with separate proceedings brought against the businessman by 80 investors, who paid for properties at the Golden Beach holiday resort on Turkey’s Agean Coast.

The embittered entrepreneur has previously denied any wrongdoing, maintaining that he has been a victim of the scam as well.

He has been released on bail until the case comes to trial, with a further review hearing into the civil proceedings being listed for next month.
